EDI 211

The EDI 211 transaction set is an electronic version of a paper Motor Carrier Bill of Lading that complies with the ANSI X12 EDI specifications. This transaction set transmitted from a shipper to a carrier and works as a legally binding description of lading for a shipment. An EDI 211 documents is not to be used to give a motor carrier with data relative to a load tender, pickup manifest, or appointment scheduling.
