Overview of EDI Transactions for Warehouses
EDI 856 (Advance Ship Notice): EDI 856 used in the exchange of contents of a shipment between trading partners.
EDI 940 (Warehouse Shipping Order): EDI 940 is used to inform a remote warehouse that a shipment is required or to modify/cancel a previously submitted shipping order.
EDI 943 (Warehouse Stock Transfer Shipment Advice): EDI 943 is used by a supplier or manufacturer to notify the recipient that a transfer shipment has been made. This EDI document includes detailed information about the products being shipped to that location.
EDI 944 (Warehouse Stock Transfer Receipt Advice): EDI 944 is an acknowledgment to a manufacturer that a transfer shipment has been received.
EDI 945 (Warehousing Shipping Advice): Usually EDI 945 provides confirmation of a shipment. It is used by a warehouse to inform a trading partner that the shipment was made.
EDI 947 (Warehouse Inventory Adjustment Advice): EDI 947 transaction set sent to a warehouse/depositor and provides the details for a quantity or status change to inventory records.
